Getting Involved…means “getting to…”
Gathering together Sunday morning is a big part of what we do and look forward to, and hopefully when we do, you get a clear understanding of who we are and, most importantly, why we worship, love and live for Jesus. However, it is only the beginning… the front door of learning who we are and what we do as a ordinary people living, loving God and living in community.
We invite everyone to get to know us better and participate alongside us by joining a home group, attending weekly and special events, serving on Sundays or throughout the week in other areas of our community life FLV. Through these additional areas of experiencing life together, and serving together we really get to know each other, cultivate community, grow in our relationshisps, and in our gifts and skills.
All this helps us accomplish a few basic things
1) Jesus tells us in John 13:34 to love each other as he loved us, that way the world will know who He is and who we are! Authentic & genuine relationship has to happen if this is going to take place. We can’t have relationship in isolation, …everyone gets to be involved!
2) We’ve been given some basic tasks to do while we’re here together that Jesus wants us to do … together…and that’s speading the Good News about who Jesus is, what He’s done; and continue to do the work that He started. (Luke 4:18, Matthew 28:18-20) This isn’t because we “have to”…its because we get to!
Religion is what says “You have to do…”
The “Good News” is that we get to…. not because we have to, but because God made it possible!
