Vineyard Canada National Celebration – July 18-21st, 2010 – Penticton, BC

Every new day brings challenges and possibilities; this can be both terrifying and exhilarating. Could it be that God is orchestrating each moment to call us forward? Could it be that all of our history, heritage and our present reality have been uniquely designed by God to prepare us to fully enter into the future that he has for us? We think so. Let’s embrace the adventure of today!

This coming summer we will gather from across our nation to meaningfully connect with God and one another. We expect, no matter what age, to be re-energized and renewed to pursue the adventure God has placed us in today with greater faith and passion, to be and do all that he has called us to.

Hosted by the Vineyard Churches of British Columbia, this National Celebration takes place in the city of Penticton which abounds with the natural beauty of mountain slopes, pristine lakes and sunny skies. Join with Vineyard friends and family from across Canada as together we experience the presence of God and the love of his people!

Worship Invasion is at Friends Langley Vineyard

God wants worshipers on the front line.

In 2 Chronicles 20:21 it says, ‘After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise Him for the splendor of His holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:
“Give thanks to the LORD,
for His love endures forever.” ‘

Whether you admit it or not, we’re in a battle you guys – a battle for our minds, our families and this city. And God always works best in battle through worshipers, because worshipers WIN.

We absolutely expect to WIN in the spirit at Langley Vineyard on Jan 30th. We are privileged to have one of the most anointed up and coming worship bands in the city: Jeremy King and Daylight Worship, that will lead us into the Holy of Holies!!!

Its that time again and as you can see Wall*e and Laura Rowden are quite anxious to get going on decorating for Christmas.

Come on out…we’ll have a blast … eat some Christmas treats (even though it’ll be before noon!) and listen to Christmas music and just all round have some fun!

Wall*e can hardly wait!

Let Worship & Justice Kiss:

We want to explore how worship and justice come together – how they feed off of and into each other – how they are intertwined. Together we want to create an intensive learning environment that will help us worship Jesus, and learn to reach out to our neighbours – especially those neighbours who are marginalized. Authentic worship will lead to doing justice. Doing justice must lead to worshipping Jesus.

Andy and Anita Voth are going to be hosting a Summer Potluck BBQ at their place Sunday – August 23 right after church.     

This is just another “Summer Community Gathering” and an invitation to get aquainted with Angela and Dion’s new little one Ethan! 

Bring your family; Bring your meat; Bring your  beverages; Bring your  lawn chairs…. but be prepared to have a great time just hanging out with everyone.       If you don’t know anyone…this is a great opportunity!  Come on out!!

FLV’s 5th Annual Tailgate Party!!!

This Sunday, July 19th right after church is our 5th Annual Tailgate Party right in the heart of the City of Langley….which just so happens to be our parking lot! (…or it is for our purposes!)

Everyone is invited, and this will be a tailgate party for the entire family!   Make sure you stay for FLV’s unique urban experience in the colourful and exciting back-drop of downtown Langley …in our very own parking lot not to mention the fantastic company of Friends!   There’ll be something for everyone! (FLV’s very own Urban Water Park will be available on-site for the kids , along with a variety of Tailgate Games!)

There will be a prize given to the “Best Tailgate Site” demonstrating that unique FLV tailgate spirit!

For those of you who are looking for some of the finer points of How-to-Tailgate.…I’ve include some “Tailgate Tips” that will help make your tailgate experience a pleasant and memorable one!

Tailgate Tip 1

Arrive early….remember the fundamental rule to any event……location, location, location. Admittedly a challenge for most Vineyarders!
Most people begin to tailgate at least three hours before the start of the game.   In our case … the action begins to happen right after the morning service, BUT this will at least ensure that you’re good to go as quickly as possilbe afterward.

Tailgate Tip 2

Find the area in the parking lot that is designated for tailgating. Many stadiums and lots set aside certain areas for tailgating activities.  Watch for the designated area or ask the  parking attendant upon arrival where to park if you are uncertain.

Tailgate Tip 3

Set up your area to reflect your tailgate spirit!! Bring along the props (carpet or indoor outdoor carpet, lawnchairs, anything from home that will enhance your comfort or convenience.

Tailgate Tip 4

Of course, bring along a portable grill or BBQ of choice. The easiest foods to prepare while tailgating are burgers and hot dogs. If you are feeling ambitious, bring along some steaks, or even that roadkill you passed
on your way to church in the morning!

Stock up on the grub and beverages. It wouldn’t be a tailgating party without an ample supply of both to enjoy….or share with those who may be joining us not knowing what they were in store for when they joined us first thing in the morning!  ;  )
